BLS works as a Consignee Stockist & DCA for IndianOil Corporation.
As a Consignee Stockist, BLS stocks goods of IndianOil Corporation but the legal ownership remains with IndianOil, and thus, the risk and rewards regarding the said stock remains with IndianOil while BLS is responsible for specific distribution or retail operations. Ownership of consignment stock is passed only when the stock is sold. As a Del Credere Agent, BLS acts not only as a salesperson or broker for IndianOil, but also as a guarantor of credit extended to the buyer. If the buyer is unable to pay the bill after the transaction is completed, BLS may become liable for the amount that was not collected.
